Announcements Revised Draft Mission Statement - May 2011"Together with our families and community, we will inspire students to be passionate learners, creative thinkers, and innovative leaders who enrich our world."
Final Visioning and Strategic Planning Team MeetingSaturday, May 21 from 8am-11am will be our culminating meeting to bring together our mission, beliefs, and action plans for our full group to review. Please take some time to preview our action planning charts for each of the areas as we prepare for our meeting.
The Journey Begins...Over fifty (50) school community members including parents, staff, students, and business and Village partners that have volunteered to be a part of the Visioning and Strategic Planning Team. The goal of this process is to create a plan that will define the conditions necessary to continuously improve teaching and learning in our school district and to guide our future decision making.
"Defining Our Destiny" will be our theme for this process as we develop relationships, determine what knowledge and skills students will need to be successful, what trends and issues will shape the future of our students, and finally, what resources will be required to meet the needs of the future vision. The world that our students will live in will require greater globalization, more technology, higher teacher and administrator quality, risk taking, the ability to adapt to rapid change, as well as more opportunities for personalized learning for each and every student.
The work of this group will design a new future for education in Brown Deer. Information will be added below, documenting the progress and work of the team. We appreciate the community’s willingness to participate in this very exciting conversation as we "define our destiny." Let the journey begin.
Yours in Education,
Dr. Deborah Kerr
